Welcome to our private pages. These pages are actually intended for all our relatives and friends over in the Netherlands who might be curious how we are doing on Lombok.
Living on Lombok .....
Is like having a dream come true. About 5 years ago I made the final decision to quit my job in Holland and try to start a life on Lombok. So after we acquired some land in the Senggigi Green Valley neighborhood, we designed and build our new home. A nice bungalow which is sufficient for the three of us but has also an air-conditioned guest room (for family or friend who want to visit us) and an office.
So I can work at home and have the opportunity to spend a lot of time with my family.

Our Family .....
Our small family consists of Jessicha my wife, Alex our son and of course me, Harrie. About 5 years ago I met my lovely wife on Sulawesi, but she originates from Bandung on Java.
We decided to make our life at Lombok because I already had bought some land over there and started with the design of our new home. We both love Lombok because it's far away from the hustle and bustle of modern live, but has all the things a western needs.
We live in Senggigi, which is only a 20 minutes drive by motorbike to the International Airport and Mataram, the main city of Lombok with all the shops and markets. And it takes only three minutes walk to go to the beach or shop or go out in Senggigi, Lomboks main tourist centre.

Nearly 4 years ago our son Alex was born, who is growing up rapidly and already attends the kindergarten-playgroup at the catholic school in Mataram. I never knew it was so much fun to be a father.
And having my business partially at home I am a lucky fellow who is able to spend a lot of my time with his family.
Working on Lombok .....
Is easy an not to stressy. My prime business is developing and maintaining websites, but I also have a half time job as the daily manager of a social project at a hotel-school for poor students which is funded by the Dutch organization "Het Schone Streven". (see their site for more information).
As a side-busines am also running an insurance agency for expats at Lombok. After working 15 year for a large insurance company in the Netherlands I still like this branch.

Jessicha also has her own business. She loves to cook and the way she prepares traditional Indonesian dishes is really miraculous. So its natural she started a catering service. Providing daily meals , but also for large groups and festivities
